A while back we were invited to visit CAMPUS Hong Kong (a.k.a. Bay Bridge Hong Kong by Hotel G), a hostel slash serviced apartment located in Tsuen Wan that’s made for students and families. Check out what’s in store!

Situated about 5 minutes’ taxi ride from either Tsuen Wan or Tsuen Wan East MTR station, this is not your usual hotel around the buzz of the city. But after a scenic ride that began our night’s stay, you’ll arrive at an unassuming building that’s got a lot to offer on the inside.

Mainly designed for students, CAMPUS is more than just rooms and a gym. The establishment also organizes running nights, karaoke events and festivity celebrations for the occupants, and it has a fantastic environment to settle in and get cracking on your studies.

The kind of rooms are a little confusing, but as we understand there are two main categories: student rooms (shared between 4 people or more) under CAMPLUS Hong Kong, or individual bedrooms and studios under Bay Bridge Hong Kong. We were assigned to a serviced apartment kind of room on the 5th floor with twin beds. As you can see, the décor is simple, perfect for Instagram photos, modern and welcoming.

The amenities provided for our room are minimal, with just shampoo, shower gel and a shower cap included. But you can always stock up on wine, nibbles and store it in the initially empty fridge or use their microwave. Wi-fi is of course, conveniently provided and well-received throughout the place.

If you’re looking for things to do, you can go for a dip in their pool or Jacuzzi (summertime only), or head to their gym/fitness center. Feeling lazy? Lounge around in the comfy seats in the lobby and pick up a book to read from their shelves or just stare out at the ocean like we did.

Anchor's, their restaurant just got a revamp as well, and is now providing a big menu filled with Asian and Western favourites.

All in all, CAMPUS Hong Kong is a fantastic option for students on exchange from abroad, or for families looking for a place to stay when the house is under renovation. Of course, it’s no luxurious hotel, but it was never meant for that kind of purposes. If you’d like to have a quiet and simple weekend away from everything that is the city though, this is a place to consider!

If you’re looking to get there, they provide free shuttle buses to and from Discovery Park Shopping Mall and Tsuen Wan & Tsuen Wan West MTR station.
