I do not know if it is just my observation, but since the end of 2020 and now at the beginning of 2021 there seems to be quite a surge in bakeries opening around Hong Kong. Even near my home there has been two new bakeries just within one minute walking distance. I am not talking about your local bakeries, but more diverse and unique baked goods that are only available at that specific bakery chain/ brand.

Now going into the new year Shangri-La presents 'Baked'. This is a new artisan bakery by recently appointed Area Chief Baker Nikolai Murzello, with a pop-up location at the Kowloon Shangri-La, Hong Kong. The pop-up will be there for the next three months, so next time you are in TST try and get to see over 30 house-made pastries and breads that Nikolai has created.

Check out their Crème Brûlée Berliner at HK$25. The donut with a hole in the centre is filled with vanilla custard and then topped with tourched sugar!
