Oleg Tselkov – Unofficial Art Contemporary Art Exhibition

Opened just on the 23rd of May, Oleg Tselkov’s Unofficial Art will be on at AP Contemporary until the 30th of June. From Moscow, he is an artist that made his name from his activism in the underground and his persistence in going through the suppression on experimental art during the 60s and 70s in the Soviet Union. By sticking to his type of ‘formalism’ art, he was frowned upon by the society amongst other underground young artists and was expelled from art school where he went onto exile in Paris.

The colorful architecture is strangely juxtaposed with a lack of domesticity, imposed with layers that strengthens the depth of the image but reinforces a feeling static time for the environment. Bold clear blocks used to depict the subject freezes the space much like portraiture, allowing the breathless space to secure its stance within a created context of nature.

Keith Haring / RETNA Exhibition in Hong Kong

With a very similar breath taking style of repeated lines of symbols and patterns; works of street artist Keith Haring and RETNA has been collected by art entrepreneur Andy Valmorbida for a pop up exhibition here in Hong Kong on the 23rd of May. Opened for one night only, the exhibition is not to be missed by fans nor public who are not familiar with the works.

Asia Contemporary Art Show 2013 is coming soon

Landing in Hong Kong from May 23rd to 26th, 17 countries have devoted their collection of works to be displayed in JW Marriot Hotel’s top four floors as features in the Asia Contemporary Art Show by Art Basel Hong Kong. Ranging from photography pieces to sculptures to paintings; a jury panel of 8 is empowered with the decision to give out a HK$80,000 prize to the selected artist, bridging contemporary artists from around the world and local elites together through this event.

Shanghai Tang Mansion: A Month of Artistic Revelry

It’s not a new theme, globalization… but to be spoken about by this modern Chinese brand along with other world well known Chinese and local figures on the matter with an artistic approach is new. Marvel’s Iron Man Suit Up At Hysan Place, Powered by Hot Toys

With Marvel’s “Iron Man 3” in theatres on the 25th of April; Hysan Place at Lee Gardens in Causeway Bay has collaborated with Hot Toys and set up the exhibition “Marvel’s Iron Man Suit Up At Hysan Place, Powered by Hot Toys”  showcasing different Iron Man goods until the 12th of May, 2013.

Melanie Comber: Tourist Exhibition

Exhibited across the UK, with her participation in the group show “The British Cut” in Hong Kong last year; Melanie Comber has returned with her first Solo exhibition in Hong Kong hosted by the Cat Street Gallery. Starting on the 16th of April, 12 of her paintings are to be showcased in the gallery, depicting environments of neither definitive as being a pure abstraction or an aerial photograph.

LaFerrari Make Its Asia Pacific Debut at the Shanghai International Auto Show

An anticipated date for Ferraristi, Ferrari will be presenting its Asia Pacific Debut for its new special limited series LeFerrari on the 20th of April. To be revealed at the Shanghai International Auto Show, it is a special chance for fans in China to come close to the LaFerrari as well as other models including the FF, F12berlinetta, 458 Italia, 458 Spider and the California 30.

BMW Art Car by Jeff Koons Unveiled at ART HK 11

The latest in a 35 year long run of BMW art cars was unveiled at ART HK 11 yesterday. The M3 GT2 was conceived by celebrated American artist Jeff Koons with a multi-coloured theme and will be showcased for four days from 26 – 29 May.
