From the 5th of June to the 12th of July 2014; The Cat Street Gallery is proudly introducing a joint exhibition by Henry Hussey and Vanessa Wong, where the two emerging talents will be debuting their works for the first time at a commercial art gallery here in Hong Kong.
Happened on just the previous weekend of the 16th to the 17th of May, 2014; the Art and Design celebrating festival Chai Wan Mei was hosted with success. In conjunction with participating galleries such as 10 Chancery Lane Art Projects, agnés b.’s LIBRAIRIE GALERIE, AO Vertical & Bookstore, Artify, ilivetomorrow, Platform China, Youth Square and YY9; the event covered a large area of Chai Wan industrial center with countless studios participating in the project.
The Space up on Hollywood Road has always been known for its constant holdings of the cities’ latest fashion previews, art exhibitions and cultural related events; but never have I seen it being so beautifully infested with working artists sitting against their wooden made tables with classic red blue and white plastics covering all over the floors.
44 pieces in representation to his current age of 44 years; Michael Lau’s newest pop- up gallery exhibit works that reflects on different quotes which has been influential to him. In forms of wood, canvas and stainless steel; the artist’s recognized sense of fun is toned down by the choice of a full monotone palette, but the attracting humor still remains within his unique executed expression.
It’s another year of Art Basel, and this second edition in Hong Kong opens its doors to public on the 15th of May 2014, welcoming guests with 245 premier galleries from across 39 counties, with 24 of those having exhibitions spaces in Asia or in the Asia- Pacific region. With 171 Modern and contemporary art galleries taking part, with 20 exhibitions completely new to Art Basel joining in this year; there is also a first time show curated by Li Zhenhua belonging to the film sector, hosted in conjunction with Hong Kong Arts Centre.
