The beloved Halloween is just one week away and whether you’re planning to party, stay in or just have a feast, we have the best of Hong Kong’s Halloween happenings all on one page!
Things to do
Styloween at Fashion Walk
Halloween is also about what you wear, so Fashion Walk has come together with the coolest brands in town to bring you a night of fright and fashion. There are a make-up program, a tasting workshop, a dance program and a styling workshop to prep you for the festivity ahead, and on the night itself the Halloween Styloween party is going to keep you occupied with games and treats.
Dada Bar + Lounge’s Halloween Horror Nights
If you want to cosy up on Halloween, head over to Dad Bar + Lounge for a night of horror movie with scary snacks and drinks to boot. On 30th, they will be playing The Suicide Shop, while Let Me In will be shown on the 31st. There’ll also be plenty of Halloween inspired cocktails for you to choose from, so it’s time to dress up as your favourite movie character and drink up!
Scream your heart out at Madame Tussauds
If you’ve never visited Hong Kong’s very own Madame Tussauds, this Halloween is a good chance for you to do it! With a special SCREAM section in the heart of the museum, you’ll enter a psychiatric ward filled with actors and wax figures ready to take you down. Bonus part: You can get a special Halloween 4-in-1 deal that lets you experience the tram, the museum, the Sky Terrace plus dinner at Bubba Gump.
Ocean Park Halloween Fest
If you want to get scared, Ocean Park is probably the best place to be – multiple haunted houses, heart-popping rides, plus plenty of adorable animals to help you forget the trauma afterwards! This year, they’ve collaborated with beloved Japanese character Doraemon (the blue cat with plenty of amazing gadgets) for some kids-friendly Halloween attractions too, so you can bring the whole gang for a day out.
Dark Wedding at Lan Kwai Fong
The famous Lan Kwai Fong street party gets a revamp this Halloween! Following a “Love you to death” theme, there will be a haunted house for you to visit, on top of face painting and of course, endless bars and restaurants with special menus for you to get your drink on!
Haunted with a view at Fright Dome
Hailing all the way from Las Vegas, Fright Dome, the top haunted attraction has made its landing in our city. Head on through to the 4D clown house and slaughter house, and if you can survive those, check out some more lighting show, games and photo booths. We even heard that there’s some bull-riding involved… Enter at your own risk!
Eat & Drink
A Halloween Steak Rebellion
This year, The Butchers Club will set up shop for the popular Steak Rebellion with a scary twist. For just one price, you’re in for a five-course dinner including oysters, charcuterie, rib-eye steaks, a cheese platter and some New York cheesecake to boot. On top of that, you get a free bottle of red! Don’t forget to dress up to the theme, this time it’s all about dead gangsters and ghoulish barbers.
A Scary kind of tea at FINDS
If you’re looking for something to enjoy in the afternoon of Halloween, head on over to FINDS for their afternoon tea set! Available only until the 31st, this tea set includes plenty of scary treats like “poisonous mushrooms” or “chocolate eyeball” for you indulge in. For the adults, try their Acheron Blood cocktail for a little something extra.
A Spanish Halloween
We love Spanish food as it is, but probably more now with a twist! Until 2nd November, Boqueria is offering a tasty squid ink paella garnished with a witch’s hat and broom. You can also wash it down with a special blood orange Sangria as tribute to your favourite holiday.
If you’re a party animal, head on over to Brickhouse to celebrate Dia de los Muertos with plenty of tequila shots and their special Day of the Dead cocktail, the Jacinto. Also, make sure you dress to kill for their best dress competition!
A Nightmare on Ship Street
If you’re sure your scary outfit is on point, head on over to Ham & Sherry for their competition! If you’re the best dressed of the night, you could win a $2000 bar tab, while the first 50 to arrive also gets a goodie bag treat. Over 22 Ships, those in costume will get a complimentary rum punch, and diners can get a complimentary shot at Ham & Sherry!
