Limited Edition Cocktail And Otoshi Experience: Okra Hong Kong Partners With Mizunara The Library

Sai Ying Pun neighborhood Izakaya, Okra Hong Kong, will partner with renowned Ginza-style whiskey bar, Mizunara: The Library, for a limited edition cocktail and otoshi experience, taking place at Okra’s upstairs Omakase counter.
Mizunara’s Masahiko Endo and Okra’s Chef Max Levy will offer up a cocktail bento featuring one whiskey cocktail and three small otoshi or small Japanese tapas dishes, for HK$350. A la carte drinks and food are also available.
This limited time only pop-up is accessible via reservation only and guests are requested to keep their Cocktail Bento experience to 90 minutes, which is plenty of time to enjoy the thoughtfully curated cocktail and otoshi bento. Reservation time slots are available from 4 to 10pm, Monday through Saturday in accordance with government imposed social distancing measures.
“Mizunara has been one of my favorite cocktail bars in Hong Kong since moving here,” says Chef Levy. “Besides the Fukuoka connection that Masahiko Endo and I share, the low key vibes and technical approach to cocktails at Mizunara is parallel to our approach towards food and sake at Okra. In these tough times it’s important that we stick together and preserve these styles rather than being lost among caviar and truffles.”
“My hometown, Fukuoka, is famous for fresh food materials including fish, meat and vegetables. As a bartender from there, I’ve always been keen to pair my cocktails with Japanese food. Fortunately, Max has given me this opportunity to make it a reality,” says Endo.
