Description

In 1999, Will Ramsay democratised the contemporary art market with a revolutionary approach – the concept was simple yet unique: make art accessible to all, launching the first Affordable Art Fair in Battersea Park, London.  For twenty years now we have been intrepid pioneers of the art world, with Affordable Art Fair’s taking place around the world – including Hong Kong!

Celebrating Affordable Art Fair’s 20th anniversary, the fair will continue to help people discover the joy of collecting art. The seventh Hong Kong edition will present 116 galleries from 20 countries, 28 home-grown in Hong Kong and 66 from across Asia. The fair is committed to bringing newness to Hong Kong and is delighted to share its FRESH selection of artists this year.

With over 1,000 artists exhibited, Affordable Art Fair Hong Kong is a wonderful place for seasoned collectors to discover exciting, emerging artists or for new buyers to begin an art journey of their own. Traversing new media, sculpture, portraiture, pop art, street art and architecture, amongst countless other genres, the collection of talented artists in this year’s fair will bring Hong Kong an unparalleled depth and breadth of artwork to its seventh edition.

Exploring the space between technology and art, new media artists are some of the top picks this year and are a key theme of the Young Talent Hong Kong programme. Limitless in form, galleries such as New York’s Muriel Guepin Gallery will present the work of Davy and Kristin McGuire whose whimsical fairy videos verge on sculptural, while Bluerider ART from Taiwan represents innovative artist Marck, with video work of a swimmer within a sardine can.
