HUNGRY GHOSTS EMERGE WITH SECOND EP
BRINGING FRESH SOUNDS TO THRIVING HONG KONG MUSIC SCENE
2012 release marks homegrown band’s coming of age
On Saturday, 4th February 2012, Hong Kong-bred indie-rock outfit Hungry Ghosts will launch its second EP from Backstage Live, marking the group’s long-held ambitions to evolve its rhythmic, post-rock, original music.
Together for five years, Hungry Ghosts have been a long-time fixture on Hong Kong’s indie rock scene, having opened for international acts including Saosin (USA), Lymbyc Systym (USA), Da Bang (Beijing) and Caspian (USA), in addition to supporting regular shows alongside fellow independent bands at music hubs The Fringe Club, Hidden Agenda, Hang Out, Grappas and The Wanch.
The EP will feature five songs including Ghosts classics like You and Me, This Noise, rock songs like Survival and Modus Vivendi and the group’s indie-pop single, Journey is Destination. Recorded at Redroom Studios, mixed and mastered in the Netherlands the justified anticipation has definitely been worth it.

“When Hungry Ghosts first came together in 2007, we began with a young, fun-filled passion and desire to be a part of the shaping of Hong Kong’s indie music scene,” explains Ghosts member, Paul Lam. “We think our fans will find that same energetic spirit on this second EP, yet combined with a crafted technical approach to songwriting.”
The 4th February launch event at Backstage Live will be supported by fellow indie rock groups Corey Tam and the One Horse Band, More Reverb and Modern Children. The Hungry Ghosts will headline the event with music from their EP as well as never before heard original numbers.
