La Perla has just launched their new s/s 2011 collection at their IFC store last week where they showed off some of their sexiest lingerie from their latest collection “Venetian Caprice.” The new line combines Italian beauty, elegance and baroque architecture under four collections: “Indiscrete,” “Masquerade,” “Passion de Fleur” and “Vintage Plisse.”
This season, the celebrated Italian lingerie firm refers back to its rich history taking inspiration from Italian art, culture and the beauty of the women of that time. Expect lots of laces and veils, balconette bras and floral designs leaving little to the imagination. Phenomenal skill and artistry invests each piece- the luxurious details of a slip made from Leavers lace with Egyptian cotton-lined bra.
“Leavers lace” comes from the name of the loom used for the formation of this fine lace back in the 19th century. La Perla still preserves this complicated artisanship, as the looms are the only ones competent of being able to work with extreme numbers of threads, which are considered necessary for the complicated work of luxury handmade lace.
Some of our favourites:
Red Balconcino Demi Cup Bra & Stringivita Bustier
Marquise Nightwear Set
Black Vintage Plisse Body
Black Ingenue Body
The beauty of the garments is dark and mysterious; materials incorporate floral motifs inlaid laser cut lace and combined with stretch tulle. The details are sewn and embroidered by hand with a view to obtaining an exclusive and prestigious work which embodies the fundamental style of La Perla.
