There’s so much food coming our way this autumn: Right after the annual Wine and Dine festival in October is the second edition of the Best of British cultural festival from 8-13 November, where you’ll be able to take part in a slew of food, cinema, and shopping events and performances all at Tamar Park in Admiralty—best of all, it’s free entry! Read on for what to look out for during the six day festival.
1) Eat. A lot.
Throughout the whole duration of the festival Tamar Park will be featuring eight restaurants with some of the best British dishes in town. Try classics like scotch eggs from Jamie’s Italian, tea sets and picnic baskets from Popsy Modern Kitchen, sticky toffee pudding and fish & chips from The Pawn, and more from other establishments including Mr & Mrs Fox, Mama San, Tango Steakhouse, Bread Street Kitchen & Bar, Bombay Dreams.
2) Catch a British flick
Want to watch a movie under the stars at Tamar Park? Each night throughout the festival, a classic British film will be screened, and you can cosy up with a glass of Berry Brothers & Rudd wine, snack on popcorn and other British treats. 3) Get fancy with wine and cheese
On top of the food extravaganza each night there will also be themed nights with a spotlight on specific treats! On 9 Nov, 5-8pm, you can get a taste of delicious cheeses and wines by Berry Bros & Rudd.
4) Make a personalised bottle of whisky
Looking for the perfect Christmas gift for the whisky-lover in your life? Get a personalised bottle from The Famous Grouse with their name on the label. Speaking of which, The Famous Grouse is hosting a Whisky Evening on 11 Nov, 5-11pm, which will be offering the perfect dishes to match.
Prepare to eat lots of it: On 12 Nov, each of the eight participating restaurants will be serving up a special bacon dish for any beer you buy on site.
6) Skank along to The Red Stripes
Hong Kong’s most well known ska band will be making an appearance on the lawn on 12 Nov—grab your drinks and get to it!
7) Sip tea (or gin) at a garden party
On the final day of the festival, sip your fill of G&Ts along with a British Garden Party treat served up by each of the participating restaurants, while you take part in a game of croquet on the lawn. Popsy Modern Kitchen will also be serving up high tea. Looking for a summery drink to shake things up? Look out for the special Fruit Cup cocktail, made with William Chase gin, wild botanicals, raspberries and blackcurrants for a refreshing treat. Sounds like a pretty sweet Sunday to us.
