What to Eat


Pernod Ricard has been a leading winemaker in the industry for years and yet still manage to surprise us with its expansion of wine collection. In celebration of the launch of Pernod Ricard Winemakers Fine Wine Collection, Pernod Ricard hosted a winemaker’s table at Ritz Carlton Hong Kong and luckily I’m one of the guest.

Two awarded winemakers, Ben Bryant and Chris Scott were the hosts of the media lunch and introduced the fine wines from Barossa Valley in Australia, Marlborough in New Zealand and Rioja in Spain to the guests and we get to tried each of them pairing with cuisine that’s designed to complement the taste of each wine. They also had a lovely display table to show the ingredients of each wine which is a lovely touch.

My personal favorite is the Ysios Reserva which has hits of red fruit such as cherries and raspberries, followed by elegant toast and toffee nuances alongside hints of tabacco and cacao. The aroma is complex and elegant.
