If you have been to Osaka or a pancake lover, you must be heard of Gram which is an extremely popular pancake shop originally from Osaka now has branches throughout Japan. Last Saturday, their first and only overseas branch is open in Hong Kong (dancing emoji) and we were invited to try it and see if it is worth the queue.
The most famous Gram’s pancakes must be the Premium Pancakes which only has 60 servings daily and one person can order one serving so expect queuing as the shop doesn’t accept reservation. All the pancakes from Gram are visually satisfying but especially this one – soft, fluffy pancakes neatly stacked together like a mini tower. The texture reminds me of soufflé – airy, delicate and fluffy and the cream on the side is perfect to pair with it. The only problem is a bit dryer than the other Japanese pancakes that I have tried but they explained that they made them a bit firmer that day for the photos but it’s usually moister.
Except for the Premium Pancakes, they have 9 more options including Tiramisu, Banana and savoury options such as Pancakes with Salmon or with Bolognese sauce and sausage…etc.
