Hong Kong Food News & Reviews

Despite the fact that it’s already mid-September, I still frequently find myself desiring a cup of cold brew coffee to cool off myself in the middle of the day. Cold brew coffee is popping everywhere and here are some of our favourites in town.

*In case you’re not familiar with cold brew coffee. Cold brew is the process of steeping coffee grounds in water at cool temperatures for at least 12 hours. The benefit of this method is it will be less acidic and bitter, and more refine in taste which make it a refreshing drink in these hot days.

Stazione Novella

Their Nitro Coffee ($35) is such a surprise for your taste buds and eyes! Similar concept to nitro beer, it is created by cold-brewing grinds for 24 hours before pumping the kegged coffee through a tap and double-charging it with hits of nitrogen. The gas imparts a silky-smooth finish along with a stout-like head, and brings out the natural flavours of the bean. The coffee is also served in a tall glass, cold brew has never been so elegant.
