From the 5th of June to the 12th of July 2014; The Cat Street Gallery is proudly introducing a joint exhibition by Henry Hussey and Vanessa Wong, where the two emerging talents will be debuting their works for the first time at a commercial art gallery here in Hong Kong.

A young British artist having graduated from the Royal College of Art, Hussey is heavily engaged in producing rich emotive textile works that expresses the exploration of significant moments that has happened in one’s personal life. Using fabrics, embroidery, table cloth, knitted yarn, faux crystals and pearls, sequins, screen- print and acrylic paints; Hussey’s works connect generations together through the medium’s previous handling and present interpretation.

Wong, a Hong Kong artist who graduated with a Fine Art BA from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology explores the connection between the human body and objects of consumerism through the usage of especially bright colors. Seductive and almost obsessive; a mixture of graphics including depictions of junk food, high heels and human organs are placed together in creating beautifully grotesque images.
