The giant outdoor sculpture ‘Prologue’ by London design duo Fredrikson Stallard will be landing in PMQ on the 13th of May, 2014; celebrating Art Basel 2014 with its international debut here.


The 4m tall piece which holds over 8,000 Swarovski crystals will be interacting with the natural light in the outdoor environment, attracting visitor’s attention as soon as they enter the heritage site which is now revitalized as Central’s creative hub.

Known for their avante garde style of expressing “a more abstract symbol of life and rebirth”; board member of Swarovski, Nadja Swarovski comments that Fredrikson Stallard’s new work represents change, “just as night follows day, nothing remains the same.”


Internationally recognized ever since 1995, the partners Patrik Fredrikson and Ian Stallard is famous for their emotion evoking furniture and product designs. This collaborative work with Swarovski not only marks their very first exhibition here in Hong Kong; but also is the first for Swarovski, using their medium of crystal as a tool for delivering contemporary an art project here in Hong Kong.
