Happening on the 13th of May, 2014; the Hong Kong Art Gallery Association is bringing together 36 Hong Kong galleries in opening an intimate and relaxing exhibition night at each of the different participating venues.

 


With a fostering art scene here in Hong Kong; Art Gallery Night hopes to raise awareness to the culture of gallery- hopping for art lovers during such a creative month where Art Basel takes place. Setting the mood for the opening of Art Basel week; the events are free and open to the public with the full program uploaded on www.hk-aga.org.

With live performances including the Art Supermarket (6pm) where French Street Artist Stoul live paints in her Japanese Manga and cats influenced style and the Identity Art Gallery’s (7pm) musical performance by Jing Wong at People Mountain People Sea opening for the cocktail reception of “Symbolic Logic”; there is also “The Invisible Visible” by Peter Panyoczki and Udo Nöger who will be creating live visual forms at the cocktail reception in Karin Weber Gallery (6pm).


Countless discourses, artist talks and sharing sessions will also happen at night including artist Liu Kuo-sung and curator Zhu Hongzi covering contemporary ink paintings at Galerie du Monde (5:30pm), Michelle Kuen Suet’s artist talk at Galerie KOO (7:30pm), photographer Dominique Laugé’s exhibition talk on “Zero One Zero One” at Picture This Gallery (7pm), Joshua Yeldham’s artist talk at The Cat Street Gallery (6pm) and Sim Chan behind the "Poetic Space" exhibitions sharing at YY9 Gallery (6pm).


On top of that, short films, video presentation, special interaction events with souvenirs and different artists will be present to chat and mingle with guests.
