Apart from the upcoming AIA Carnival and Udderbelly Festival at Central Harbourfront, there's also another exciting project coming up across the harbour. Tung Wah is bringing us a charity carnival at the former Kai Tak runway from December 2015 to March 2016. Expect 6 exciting rides and a variety of yummy food and fun activities. Read on and see what we know so far!
First of all, no carnival is complete without some hair-raising rides. There will be six attractions at this carnival, including the Tourbillon, Swiss Tower, Super Chaos, Double Deck Carousel, Tree Swing, and Super Slide - which has been set up as a part of Super Bowl Boulevard, which runs through Times Square in New York City (you know you can’t miss this one)!
Apart from these exciting rides, we gathered from their website that there will also, of course, be some food stalls, as well as some "seasonal celebrations and festivals". What that means though, we have no idea. Perhaps they will release more information soon!
Each ticket is $180HKD – includes $120HKD worth of rides, $40HKD worth of skilled game, and $20HKD admission fee. A limited amount of $145HKD concessionary tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets are available online, and there's also an "online reservation" function on the website, but it's still unclear as to what it does.
Children under 3 years old, local senior residents aged 65 years old or above and holders of "Registration Card for People with Disabilities" issued by the Labour and Welfare Bureau of the Government of the HKSAR can get in for free but they’ll still have to pay for playing rides and skill-games.
We don't have all the information yet, but we are excited to see new things happening this season. Make sure to stay tuned to their website for all the updates!
