It’s been growing, from small stalls around the corners of the pedestrian area on Mongkok streets to small scale showcases of local crafts at public venues, to the 2 level JCCAC crafts fair every season and Discovery Bay’s market every now and then. Hong Kong DIY-ers are no longer strange to the public but instead widely accepted and favorite over commercialized big brands by customers from around the world. Coming back this October to Youth Square at Chai Wan is one of the biggest Crafts Mart in Hong Kong; depicting works by local designers as well as products by original makers from Australia, Singapore, Japan, Malaysia, Taiwan and Macau.
Belonging to one of the events under “Hip Hong Kong” of “Hong Kong: Our Home”; this platform for young handicraft artists and designers will be held from the 5th to the 6th and the 12th to the 13th of October from12pm to 6pm. With a total of 300 contributors, prepare yourself for unique and one of a kind products for sale, ranging from soap to leather goods to accessories and many more.
Apart from shopping and widening your creative scope with these talented designers; performances such as ukulele, yoyo and Chinese Dance will be taking place, alongside with talks by product entrepreneurs to encourage enhanced practices on design and business preparation.
Best of all, admission is free of charge, and all members of the public is welcome to visit.
