Very Hong Kong have just hosted two of their events on the 14th of December 2013 at Sun and Moon Street and New Central Harbourfront, welcoming the festive season with indie music, fashion show, pop- up market and a night of entertainment.
Celebrating the different cultures in Hong Kong, the Very Street event highlights the ‘old meets new’ theme with local designer works and sustainable products.
Local designers were invited to redesign the traditional folding stool, and indie singer and bands from Hong Kong and abroad were invited to perform at the ‘Urban Meets Acoustic Live Music Performance’.
With the area decorated with Yarn bombing arts with a photo exhibition featuring snapshots by the HK InstaYay group; the street was filled with things to see for the public. Everybody was also encouraged to interact with each other at the ‘Draw in the Space’ and ‘Paint something’ art jamming wall.
As for the Very Christmas Concert, the night back dropped against the lovely city skyline and successfully brought students from 120 music colleges, universities, secondary and primary schools and kindergartens together in performing under the group of Metropolitan Youth Orchestra of Hong Kong.
Michelle Kim’s Hong Kong Generation Next Arts and the CIS Jazz Band and the YAT PO SINGERS also performed funky Christmas tunes to the audiences that night. With over 1,000 participants involved in the Very Hong Kong festival throughout the weekend; the Very Hong Kong series ended with huge success.
