The UPCYCLING Art Space at Youth Square


With the 2.8 metre tall upcycle material created wishing tree lighting up on the 28th of March; it marks the newest exhibition opening at Youth Square by the local artists of Déjà vu Creation and Singaporean talents from The Living! Project.

 

Street Art meets French Fine Dining at Bibo



Opening this April 2014 on Hollywood Road, Bibo is not only an anticipation for foodies; but also a potential new hang out spot for contemporary art fanatics. With the venue holding installations by names like Vhils, Invader, JonOne, Stohead, Kaws, JR, Ella & Pitr, Mist, MadC, Banksy, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Damien Hirst, Daniel Arsham, Jeff Koons, King of Kowloon, Sheperd Fairey, Takashi Murakami, Yayoi Kusama and more; upcoming restaurant Bibo will be giving the Hong Kong public a new experience of eating with art, making this passionate project definitely one to watch out for this season.

Hong Kong Constant Change at Milan Design Week 2014


Including works by over 60 local Hong Kong artists; Hong Kong Design Center will be framing a collection of art pieces under the theme “Hong Kong Constant Change” to showcase as exhibitor at Milan’s 2014 Design Week during the 8th to the 13th of April.

The Hong Kong Jockey Club Presents Light and Shadows by Caravaggio and Contemporary Works by 4 Local Artists


After the great Venus by Botticelli came to Hong Kong last year during October 2013, not only were there immense noise being created, but so were thousands of local viewers educated via the effects brought by experiencing such a historically important painting up close. To continue the effects of implanting the rich culture and heritage from Italy to the local community with art; Italian Consulate Hong Kong in hands with Asia Society Hong Kong as well as the Hong Kong Jockey Club has successfully transported another magnificent work, ‘Supper at Emmaus’ by Caravaggio to Hong Kong for exhibiting along with 4 local artist works in The Hong Kong Jockey Club Former Explosives Magazine from the 12th of March to the 13th of April, 2014.

 

Mur Nomade presents Niko de La Faye at ArtWalk



Working between Europe and Asia with his work the M2B; artist Niko de La Faye will be stationing in Hong Kong for only one- night, showcasing a special shadow theater performance in Hong Kong’s streetscape during ArtWalk 2014.

Sam Pan x La Môd Avant- Garde Team Gallery 2014 – “The Natural World of Beauty”

It’s been 10 years since Salon La Môd was opened in 2004; and since then the venue has been the outlet for celebrities in creating innovative and style changing hairstyles. To celebrate its anniversary, newly joined Creative Director Sam Pan has joined hands with famous makeup artist Ricky Lau in creating a series of photographs under their “The Natural World of Beauty” collection.

Claude and François-Xavier Lalanne at Ben Brown Fine Arts


Returning after their premier show in Hong Kong in 2011; the Lalannes’ are hosting their second show from the 26th of February to the 29th of March at Ben Brown Fine Arts, with originally inspired works of tables, chairs, chandeliers and a coveted Croco Bureau with François-Xavier Lalanne’s iconic animal forms as well.

Absolut Collaborates with Nadim Abbas for Art Bar during Art Basel, Hong Kong


One of the most exciting young artists from Hong Kong will be partnering up with Absolut to build a nightly changing program of live music during Art Basel this May 2014. With Abbas’ artworks exploring ideas of perception and often taking inspirations from realms of literature, psychology and sciences; he will be building a post- apocalyptic bunker- like set titled “Apocalypse Postponed” for the event.
